Sławomir Nowosad

Rev. Prof. Dr. hab. Sławomir Nowosad is a Polish theologian and professor at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), serving as Head of the Department of Fundamental and Ecumenical Moral Theology since 2024. He earned his PhD and habilitation in moral theology at KUL, and was awarded the title of professor in 2022. His academic career spans leadership roles including Dean of the Faculty of Theology (2016-2020), Vice-Rector (2008-2012), and Head of the Ecumenical Moral Theology Department (2002-2024). He has taught at theological institutions in Slovakia, Ukraine, and the USA.

Research Interests focus on ecumenical moral theology, Anglican theological traditions, demographic ethics, and environmental ethics. His work analyzes the Catholic university's role in cultural shifts, Christian ethics in non-Christian religions, and post-communist moral reconstruction.

Scientific Projects include:

• The Trauma of Communism (2021-2022): Examined long-term effects of communist oppression on religious freedom and academic institutions.
• The Faith and Freedom Initiative (2021-2023): Documented Catholic faith's role in preserving dignity under authoritarian regimes.
• Catholic Universities Partnership (2005-2023): International collaboration addressing university missions in pluralistic societies.
