Søren Peder Madsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering, Mechanics and Materials section, at Aarhus University. His research focuses on numerical optimization, micromagnetics, and computational methods for electromagnetism and photonics.
Recent work explores photon upconversion for solar energy applications using gold nanostructures and core/shell nanocrystals, alongside hexaferrite magnetism and resonant optical gratings. These studies often employ finite element methods and topology optimization.
