Søren Møller

Søren Møller serves as Clinical Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen. He concurrently holds position as Chief Physician and Specialist in Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine at Hvidovre Hospital, maintaining dual academic-clinical appointment. His extensive research portfolio spans over 210 publications focusing on hemodynamic and homeostatic pathophysiology in chronic liver diseases.

Professor Møller's research interests center on chronic liver disease complications including portal hypertension, cirrhotic cardiomyopathy, hepatorenal syndrome, and hepatopulmonary syndrome. His laboratory investigates biomarkers (NGAL, hsTNT, hsCRP, sUPAR) and conducts clinical trials on betablockers, rifaximin, and vasoconstrictors. Current programs examine bacterial translocation effects, pulmonary function changes, and intrahepatic shunt impacts through TIPS procedures. His work bridges basic pathophysiological mechanisms with translational clinical applications.

Recent publication analysis reveals strong focus on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), advanced imaging techniques for hemodynamic assessment, and non-invasive diagnostic proteomics.
