Dr. Sören Henrich is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. With a PhD in Forensic Psychology, he has extensive experience in secure psychiatric settings, including roles as a Clinical/Research Associate for the NHS and as a trained Hostage and Crisis Negotiator. His research focuses on group processes, forensic risk assessment, and online behavioral dynamics.
Research explores group identity impacts, extremist violence risk modeling using the Eco-System framework, online hate speech dynamics with Ofcom collaborators, crisis negotiation decision-making, and therapeutic applications of Dungeons & Dragons for neurodiverse youth.
Honors include the Literati Award 2019 for editorial excellence. Teaching includes BSc/MSc Forensic Psychology programs. Available for MSc/PhD supervision in forensic psychology and counterterrorism with international partnerships.
Leadership roles include co-directing Early Career Research Networks, EU Knowledge Hub membership on radicalization, and editorial work for criminology journals.
