- Master in History (Catholic University of Louvain, 2017)
- PhD in History (Catholic University of Louvain & Ghent University, in progress)
De Valeriola's research pioneers quantitative approaches to humanities questions, with current projects spanning historical network analysis of medieval institutions, computational linguistics for ancient texts, and data visualization for cultural heritage. His methodological toolkit emphasizes network science, text/image processing, and machine learning applied to medieval history, archaeology, and journalism.
His scholarly recognition includes:
- Henri Pirenne Award (Royal Historical Commission, 2017)
- Special mention for SCOR Actuarial Prize (SCOR France, 2013)
As a supervisor, he guides eight students across master's and PhD levels on projects from European Parliament voting dynamics to medical AI interpretability.
