Sébastien Mella is a researcher at Institut Pasteur in Paris, France, with extensive involvement in bioinformatics education and research. He has co-instructed multiple training programs for PhD students including:
- Bioinformatics program for PhD students 2023-2024
- Bioinformatics program for PhD students 2022-2023
- Bioinformatics program for PhD students 2020-2021
- Introduction to R and statistics – RS1 courses (2021-2022)
He contributes to the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics HUB and participates in single-cell transcriptomics projects through collaborative efforts with the CB UTechS and Biomics platforms.
His research interests span immunology, genomics, and developmental biology, with recent publications focusing on:
- Immune signatures in dengue virus infection
- SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis mechanisms
- Human mucosal-associated invariant T cell regulation
- Mouse embryonic development signaling pathways
- Intestinal immune cell dynamics in genetic disorders
Mella actively publishes in high-impact journals like Cell Host Microbe, iScience, and Frontiers in Immunology. His work utilizes advanced techniques including single-cell RNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq, and statistical analysis of genomic data.
