معرفی
Dr. hab. Szymon Ziętkiewicz is a Lecturer in the Department of Protein Biochemistry at the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Gdańsk, in collaboration with the Medical University of Gdańsk. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of protein folding, chaperone systems, and their implications in neurodevelopmental, genetic, and metabolic diseases.
Key research areas include:
- Neurogenetic disorders (e.g., KCNK4 mutations, CLPB deficiency)
- Mitochondrial proteostasis and heat shock proteins
- Immune checkpoint receptors (HVEM/CD160) in melanoma
- Genotype-phenotype correlations in rare diseases
- Protein aggregation and disaggregation dynamics
His publications span clinical genetics, structural biology, and biochemical characterization of disease-linked proteins, with a focus on neurology, nephrology, and immunotherapy. Recent work highlights epilepsy phenotypes, mitochondrial refoldases, and immune signaling mechanisms.
