Szymon Gres is a Post.Doc researcher in the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University's The Technical Faculty of IT and Design. He is affiliated with the Automation & Control section and the Learning and Decisions Lab. His research focuses on modal analysis, structural health monitoring, control systems, and cybersecurity in industrial systems. Gres has received awards including the DFF International Postdoc (2021) and an Industrial PhD grant (2016). His work spans fault diagnosis in wind turbines, neural network applications for environmental perturbation normalization, and Kalman filter advancements in virtual sensing. Collaborations include visits to Inria (France) and engagements in structural health monitoring seminars.
Key research interests include modal parameter tracking under environmental changes, uncertainty quantification in mechanical systems, and cyber-physical security for wind energy infrastructure. His activities include organizing guest lectures and participating in international conferences like the IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting and the International Operational Modal Analysis Conference (IOMAC).
