Sylvia Söderström is a Professor at the Department of Neuromedicine and Movement Science, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She holds a PhD in Health Science and has extensive clinical experience as a physiotherapist since 1984. At NTNU, she teaches graduate physiotherapy students in social sciences subjects such as sociological perspectives on body and movement, health and illness, and qualitative research methods for master students.
Her research focuses on disability studies, assistive technology, and ICT use by young people with disabilities. She explores how technology influences everyday life, independence, and peer inclusion for children and youth with disabilities.
