Sylvia Masters

Sylvia Masters is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Wentworth's School of Architecture and Design, where she has taught full-time since Spring 2020 after serving as an adjunct in Fall 2019. Her academic focus bridges design theory with mental health advocacy in educational settings.

Research Interests: Sylvia explores intersections between interior design and psychological well-being, particularly in commercial office environments and educational spaces. Her work emphasizes trauma-informed design principles and resilience-building through design education.

Notable Contributions: She co-developed Wentworth's Project 40 Resiliency Initiative and advises the Student Wellness Education and Empowerment Team (SWEET). Her publications include a 2021 academic chapter on mental health in higher education and presentations at the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) 2019 conference.
