Professor Sylvia Gustin (PhD, BPsych, MPsych) is a leading neuroscientist at the University of New South Wales and Neuroscience Research Australia. She serves as Director of the NeuroRecovery Research Hub and Founding Director of the Centre for Pain IMPACT, focusing on multimodal neuroimaging and psychological assessment to investigate chronic pain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Her work bridges basic science research with clinical translation through innovative technologies like virtual reality walking and brain-computer interface neuromodulation.
Her research program emphasizes neuroimaging, neuropathic pain, and spinal cord injury recovery, with key projects targeting:
