Sylvain Bertschy is a Junior Professor of Contemporary History affiliated with the Centre Norbert Elias (UMR 8562) at Avignon Université. His research focuses on 20th-century medical transformations, health policies, and the socio-territorial impacts of toxic colonialism. He collaborates with GISCOPE 84 and the ToxCit chair, investigating occupational carcinogenesis and environmental health linkages.
