Syed-Ali Hassan

Syed-Ali Hassan is a Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, and a Visiting Professor at Mid Sweden University (MIUN). He leads the IPT research group focusing on theoretical communications and signal processing for wireless systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, MS degrees in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and University of Stuttgart, and a BE in Electrical Engineering (highest honors) from NUST.

His research spans wireless communications, signal processing, UAV networks, and 5G/6G technologies. He has authored/co-authored numerous IEEE papers and reviews for journals. He organized sessions at IWCMC 2015, VTC 2015, and others, and held TPC roles in IEEE conferences like Tencon 2012 and PIMRC 2013. His work includes contributions to home networking strategies at Cisco Systems.

Publications highlight advancements in RIS-assisted networks, blockchain-based vehicular systems, and energy-efficient UAV networks. He collaborates internationally, with recent work presented at WCNC 2024 and GLOBECOM 2024.
