Dr. Svetlana Sapuric is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Nicosia, affiliated with the School of Business and the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance. She joined the university in October 2009 and has held prior roles as an Assistant Lecturer at Cass Business School, City University London.
- Education: PhD in Finance (2009), MSc in Investment Management (2004), and Diploma in Higher Education and Teaching (2006) from Cass Business School, City University London; BSc in Economics and Business (2003) from the University of Kent.
Her research focuses on fund management, portfolio choice, digital currencies, and international financial markets. She has contributed to projects like INSTANT (2020–2023), which developed an intelligent platform for staffing and training in the hotel industry, and has explored blockchain applications in accounting and the behavioral finance aspects of investor decision-making.
Recent publications include studies on cryptocurrency auditing, neurotransmitter influences on investing, and blockchain integration in financial systems. Her work spans empirical analysis, systematic literature reviews, and interdisciplinary approaches to finance and technology.
She supervises PhD, MBA, and undergraduate theses and has presented at national and international conferences. Her collaborations include institutions in Cyprus, Greece, and the UK, with a focus on fintech and financial innovation.
