Svenja Elkenkamp serves as a Scientific Associate at Bielefeld University within the Faculty of Health Sciences, specifically in Working Group 5 Health Economics and Health Management. She also maintains an affiliation with Scientific Data Services and the Bielefeld Center for Data Science (BiCDaS), contributing her statistical expertise to interdisciplinary health research projects.
Elkenkamp completed her academic foundation with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and biology, followed by dual master's qualifications: a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Master of Science in statistics (M.Sc.). Since March 2018, she has been applying her methodological skills to health services research at Bielefeld University.
Her research focuses on advanced statistical methodologies for health economics, particularly the estimation of latent class models for EQ-5D data, selection of optimal matching methods in non-experimental studies, and innovative applications of statutory health insurance routine data in inferential statistics. She develops practical tools including Shiny applications and R packages that support health services research.
Elkenkamp has contributed to significant research projects including TELnet@NRW, STROKE OWL, and KINBIOTICS, with current work on refining the R package xreg, developing a randomization application, and the FIAT project. Her technical expertise bridges statistical theory with practical healthcare applications, supporting evidence-based health policy and service delivery research.
Based in office UHG S5-227, she can be contacted via email at svenja.elkenkamp@uni-bielefeld.de or by telephone at +49 521 106-4393, continuing to advance quantitative methods within Germany's health research landscape.
