Suzi Wolfram is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation at Northumbria University. Her research focuses on the effects of cancer treatments on skeletal muscle and the role of physical therapy in oncologic populations, particularly breast cancer survivors' shoulder function. She completed her undergraduate studies in Germany, an M.Sc. in Finland, a Ph.D. in the UK, and postdoctoral training in the US at David Lipps' Musculoskeletal Biomechanics and Imaging Laboratory and the University of Michigan.
Her work aims to understand functional limitations caused by cancer treatments and develop non-pharmaceutical rehabilitation strategies. Key areas include shoulder impingement mechanisms post-surgery, wearable sensor technologies like Kirigami patches for movement analysis, and muscle adaptations post-radiotherapy.
Her research spans biomechanics, oncology, and rehabilitation, with contributions to musculoskeletal imaging and clinical decision-making. While no specific awards or grants are listed, her interdisciplinary approach bridges engineering and medicine to improve patient outcomes.
