Suzanne Young is an Associate Professor at the Kennedy College of Sciences, UMass Lowell, and serves as the Graduate Coordinator and Honors College Liaison in the Chemistry department. She has a multidisciplinary background in space chemistry, geochemistry, biochemistry, and archaeological chemistry, with notable contributions to Mars exploration via the Phoenix Lander Mission.

These works analyze Martian soil chemistry, perchlorate detection, and biohabitability implications using miniaturized electroanalytical equipment and wet chemistry experiments.
