Suzanne Sheppard-Law

Associate Professor Suzanne Sheppard-Law is a mixed-method researcher at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Faculty of Health, School of Nursing and Midwifery, specializing in person/family-centred care, patient safety, and chronic disease management. With clinical experience as a Hepatology Clinical Nurse Consultant and leadership roles in research capacity-building, she bridges clinical practice and academia to translate evidence into healthcare solutions.

• PhD in Public Health (UNSW, 2016), MPH (Research) (UNSW, 2006), and BN (University of Sydney, 2009)

Her research interests span applied nursing, public health, and patient safety, focusing on marginalized populations and the impact of environmental stressors like climate-related extreme temperatures. Recent work explores CPR decision-making in end-of-life scenarios, text redundancy in clinical notes, and empathy training through the arts.
