Suzanne McCarthy is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy Practice at the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. She holds adjunct roles including Research Pharmacist at Cork University Hospital and has over 15 years of clinical experience across hospital and community pharmacy sectors in Ireland and the UK. Her academic and clinical focus integrates patient safety, medication safety, and mental health, with a strong emphasis on translating research into clinical practice.
Dr. McCarthy’s educational background includes a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of London (2008), a Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (2005), and an MSc in Pharmacy from the Robert Gordon University (2003). She has conducted research in European hospitals including Kings College Hospital, London, and has contributed to national and EU-funded projects such as the ADDUCE study on long-term methylphenidate safety.
