Suzanne Cox is a Professor and Chair of Psychology at Beloit College, where she teaches courses like Life-span Developmental Psychology and leads interdisciplinary work in Health & Society and Critical Identity Studies. Her research focuses on parent-child relationships, particularly in socio-cultural contexts, with an emphasis on high-risk infants and community-based interventions for underserved mothers. She has collaborated extensively with undergraduate researchers on projects addressing maternal-child attachment and cultural influences on development.

Her research integrates developmental science with community action, including initiatives like a doula program to improve childbirth outcomes. Over 30 years, she has mentored dozens of students in presenting collaborative research at conferences such as the Midwestern Psychological Association. She actively connects classroom learning with real-world applications, emphasizing students' personal and professional growth.
Her work has been published in journals like Journal of Perinatal Education and American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, focusing on themes like adolescent motherhood narratives and cultural dimensions of child development. She maintains strong ties with Beloit alumni who apply her teachings in their careers.
Outside academia, Cox enjoys outdoor activities and has a passion for fostering well-being through nature, yoga, and family adventures. She resides with her pets – Russian Blue cats and a Golden Retriever – in a home焕然一新的活力.
