Assoc. Prof. Suzan ORHAN is a faculty member at the Department of Visual Communication Design within the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Sakarya University. She holds a PhD in Cinema-TV from Dokuz Eylül University and has served as Department Chair (2014-2017) and held multiple administrative roles including Board Member and Coordinator. Her research focuses on photography's role in documenting societal changes, urban aesthetics, and visual communication.

Research interests include historical photography analysis, digital photography techniques, urban sociology through street photography, and the ethical dimensions of war photography. She teaches courses on visual communication history, photography workshops, and contemporary design practices.
Her recent articles explore Ottoman modernization through 19th-century Istanbul street photography, Bauhaus influences on digital art, and the aesthetic representation of urban peripheries. She has held administrative roles since 2014, including leadership in departmental governance and curriculum development.
Labs/Teams: Actively involved in photography education innovation through specialized workshops and interdisciplinary projects in visual communication design.
