Suya Su is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Swarthmore College, affiliated with the Sociology & Anthropology division. She completed her PhD in Sociology at the University of Notre Dame (2021) and holds additional MA degrees from Notre Dame (2017) and Lehigh University (2015), alongside a BA from Minzu University of China (2013).

Her research focuses on gender inequalities in family and workplace contexts across China and the United States. Using mixed-method approaches, she explores:
- Gender dynamics in divorce litigation and broader societal gender structures in post-reform China
- Employer discrimination against mothers in China's three-child policy era
- Public perceptions of criminal justice outcomes in sexual violence cases
At Swarthmore, she teaches courses in research methods, social statistics, and gender/family studies, including Research Methods in Social Science (SOCI 016B) and Gender, Family, and Work in East Asia (SOCI 036E). She previously served as an assistant editor for the American Sociological Review and emphasizes methodological rigor in her work.
