Susanne Zechel

Susanne Zechel is a Researcher in the Department of Actinide Thermodynamics at the Institute of Resource Ecology, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), specializing in the thermodynamic behavior of actinide elements critical for nuclear waste disposal and environmental safety.

Her core research interests include:

As a key member of HZDR's Actinide Thermodynamics research group, Ms. Zechel investigates actinide speciation and complexation in aqueous systems to support predictive modeling for nuclear repository safety assessments.
