Susanne SIEBENTRITT is a Full Professor at the University of Luxembourg, leading the Laboratory for Photovoltaics within the Department of Physics and Materials Science at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine. She specializes in semiconductor physics and thin-film solar cell development.
Education: BSc and PhD in Physics from Universities of Erlangen and Hannover, followed by postdoctoral research at UCLA, Free University of Berlin, and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. She established the photovoltaics lab in Luxembourg in 2007.
Research focuses on chalcopyrite solar cells and material physics, yielding over 160 peer-reviewed publications (3000+ citations). Awards include Luxembourg's Prix Paul Wurth (2015) and FNR Outstanding Publication Award (2014).
Leadership roles: Vice Chair of Science Europe's Scientific Council, Board Member of Germany's Kopernikus Energy Transition Programme, and conference organizer for international photovoltaics events.
Laboratory operations: Directs the Lippmann Research Centre's photovoltaics lab, located at 41 Rue du Brill, Belvaux.
