Susanne Larsson is a Lecturer at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Social Work (SOCARB) within the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS). She is actively involved in teaching and research, focusing on disability issues, self-determination, and equitable living conditions for people with intellectual and cognitive disabilities.
Her research interests include:
- Self-determination for individuals with cognitive disabilities
- Equal access to employment and leisure
- Conditions under the LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons)
- Restrictive measures and their ethical implications
- Professional supervision and work environment challenges in disability care
- Organizational influences on support quality
Susanne is a member of the interdisciplinary research group SocioFunk, which combines social work with sociology, psychology, pedagogy, and law. Her recent 2024 publication explores daily life and living conditions in group homes and day activities for people with disabilities, highlighting systemic challenges and opportunities for improvement. Her work emphasizes the importance of reflective practice and professional development in social services.
She teaches in the Socionomprogrammet (210 hp), focusing on disability issues, organizational leadership, and efforts to improve equity. Since spring 2024, she has also been involved in VFU (practical placement) courses.
Susanne collaborates with colleagues such as Marie Gustavsson, Charlotte Lundgren, and Annika Taghizadeh Larsson within the SocioFunk group and the broader research community at LiU.
