معرفی
Susanne Horn is a Professor of Numerical and Mathematical Fluid Dynamics at Coventry University's Research Centre for Fluid and Complex Systems. Her work focuses on astrophysical and geophysical fluid dynamics, particularly turbulent rotating convection and magnetoconvection. She earned her MSc from the University of Heidelberg and her Doctorate from the University of Göttingen, both in Physics. Her research combines numerical simulations and theoretical analysis to study planetary magnetic field generation and large-scale flow dynamics.
Research interests include Rayleigh-Bénard convection, turbulence in rotating flows, and non-Oberbeck-Boussinesq effects. Notable contributions involve experimental and computational studies of liquid metal convection, magnetostrophic regimes, and boundary layer dynamics. Key achievements include a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (2017) and over 25 peer-reviewed articles since 2013.
Her recent work explores transitions between convection regimes (e.g., Rayleigh-Bénard to magnetostrophic) and magnetic damping effects in jet flows. Collaborations span global institutions, addressing questions in planetary interiors and dynamo theory. Advising PhD students and participating in international conferences reflect her commitment to advancing fluid dynamics research.
