PD Dr. Susanne Hohler serves as Academic Councillor and Scientific Coordinator at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich's Faculty of History and the Arts, Department of History, working under Prof. Dr. Roland Wenzlhuemer since 2017. Her institutional base spans the Historical Seminar and Munich Center for Global History.
Her research focuses on transnational fascism, Russian emigration, and global history, with particular expertise in Manchurian urban spaces during the early 20th century. Key projects include An Infamous Man examining Boris Tödtli's transnational biography and Children's Exhibition on globalization history.
Her publication record reveals consistent thematic focus: 6 of 7 identified works analyze Russian fascist movements in Harbin (1930s), transcultural border dynamics, and Jewish diaspora politics in Northeast Asia. This demonstrates methodological commitment to global history frameworks and biographical approaches.
As an active educator, she teaches advanced courses including Colonial Society in German South West Africa, African History, and World Exhibitions in the 19th Century, all structured within LMU's Global History research cluster.
