Dr Susannah Pick is an MRC Senior Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London, affiliated with the Department of Psychological Medicine. She leads the Neurological Affective and Dissociative Symptoms (NEUROADS) Lab, an interdisciplinary team established in 2022, and is a member of the King’s Epilepsy Research Collective (KERC).
Prior to her current roles, Susannah completed her undergraduate training at Cardiff University and postgraduate studies at Liverpool University, followed by a PhD at IoPPN. Her research spans the interface of neuroscience, mental health, and physical health, with a primary focus on causal factors and pathophysiological mechanisms of functional neurological disorders (FND), particularly functional seizures and motor symptoms. She also develops novel treatments and outcome monitoring frameworks for FND, alongside studies on depression subtypes, dissociative states, and neurological comorbidities.
Her recent publications (2022–2025) emphasize systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and qualitative studies on topics such as interoception, psychedelic therapy, psychosocial interventions, and digital mental health tools. These works often employ biopsychosocial models, remote monitoring technologies, and experimental methodologies.

Dr Pick actively teaches and supervises students across undergraduate and postgraduate programs at IoPPN, including Psychology (BSc) and MSc programs such as Affective Disorders, Mind-Body Interface, and Clinical Neuroscience. She serves on the King's College London Health Faculties High Risk Research Ethics Committee and as an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports and BJPsych Open.
