Susanna Ripken is a Professor of Law at the Fowler School of Law, Chapman University, holding the William P. Foley II Chair in Corporate Law and Taxation. She also has a joint appointment in the Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Her expertise spans Securities Law, Corporations, Business Law, Corporate Personhood, and Agency & Partnership.

Her research focuses on the interdisciplinary analysis of corporate personhood, integrating law, economics, philosophy, sociology, psychology, organizational theory, political science, and linguistics. Her award-winning book Corporate Personhood (Cambridge University Press, 2019) examines the legal rights and duties of corporations through the lens of recent Supreme Court cases like Citizens United and Hobby Lobby.
