Susan Phillips is a Professor of Environmental Analysis at Pitzer College, focusing on intersections of social justice, criminology, and urban studies. Her work critically examines federal policies on gangs and drugs, their impact on communities of color, and environmental justice issues.

Phillips' research spans Social Justice, Cultural Anthropology, and Environmental Analysis.
