Susan Neale

Susan Neale serves as a Senior Lecturer in Collaborative Piano at the School of Music, Texas Tech University, where she has been affiliated since 2002. Previously holding the position of senior staff accompanist until 2022, she maintains an active performance career collaborating with string, woodwind, and brass artists across the United States and internationally.

Her educational background:

• Bachelor of Music from the University of Houston, studying with Ruth Tomfohrde and Abbey Simon
• Master's degree from Indiana University, studying with Leonard Hokanson

Dr. Neale specializes in collaborative piano with emphasis on brass and woodwind chamber music, demonstrated through frequent performances at International Tuba and Euphonium Association conferences in Austria, Canada, and multiple U.S. cities, as well as the Big 12 Trombone Conference in Lubbock.

As an educator, she mentors students in collaborative piano techniques while maintaining an active performance schedule that bridges academic instruction with professional artistry in instrumental accompanying.
