Dr. Susan Hurley serves as Professor of Voice in the Department of Music at the College of Arts & Sciences, Mississippi University for Women (MUW). An accomplished soprano, she maintains an active performance career spanning opera, musical theatre, concert, and recital literature across Europe and the United States.
Her academic credentials include:
- Bachelor of Music (B.M.) from Rutgers University
- Master of Music (M.M.) from Rice University
- Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) from Arizona State University
Dr. Hurley's research focuses on the application of audio-psycho-phonology to vocal pedagogy, specifically through the Tomatis Method. She developed the "Singers and Sound" workshop to explore the ear's role in singing, presenting it through the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Her work bridges scientific theory with practical vocal training methodologies.

Dr. Hurley founded the annual AIDS Quilt Songbook benefit concert series in Phoenix, AZ (2014) commemorating World AIDS Day.
