Susan Brooks is a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Surrey's School of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She holds a BSc(Hons) in Psychology with Nursing Studies and RN qualification from City University and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, alongside an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice from the University of Southampton. Her clinical background includes roles as a Nurse Practitioner, Independent Prescriber, and leadership positions in NHS settings.
Her research focuses on general practice priorities, support systems for individuals with learning disabilities, and post-bariatric surgery care. Teaching responsibilities include professional development modules for postgraduate practitioners and undergraduate courses on long-term condition care. She also contributes to assessments in advanced clinical reasoning and health assessment.
Brooks maintains an NHS vaccinator role alongside her academic commitments. Her recent publication co-authored with Dr. Marion Welsh addresses practical aspects of general practice nursing.
