Susa Coffey

Susa Coffey, MD, is a Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, affiliated with the Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH). She currently leads the RAPID ART and Rapid Restart programs at SFGH and supports nationwide implementation of RAPID ART initiatives. Previously, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the UCSF Center for HIV Information and HIV InSite, developing HIV-related educational materials for global use.

Her research spans qualitative studies on provider practices in ART implementation, patient experiences with immediate therapy, and virologic outcomes in urban clinic populations. She has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, with recent work exploring stigma reduction strategies and program scalability in U.S. healthcare systems.

Dr. Coffey also trains medical residents and students in HIV/AIDS care, reflecting her commitment to advancing clinical education and global health equity.
