Sunny Singh is Professor of Creative Writing and Inclusion in the Arts at London Metropolitan University, where she serves as lead tutor for the Creative Writing BA program. Her academic work spans creative writing, English literature, and social sciences, with a focus on decolonizing practices and inclusive pedagogy. Singh is recognized as a pre-eminent decolonizing public intellectual and one of the UK's leading champions for inclusion across all aspects of society.
Singh's research interests encompass contemporary literature, feminist theory, post-coloniality, and the geopolitics of culture. Her work locates research interests and pedagogy in a unique, multidisciplinary approach that draws on multiple theoretical frameworks and diverse academic traditions. She has nearly 20 years of experience teaching in higher education in transcultural, global environments, with particular focus on ethics of creative practice.
Her academic publications demonstrate consistent engagement with issues of representation, identity, and cultural politics, particularly in relation to South Asian contexts. Singh's work bridges creative practice with critical theory, examining how narrative forms intersect with power structures, historical memory, and contemporary social challenges. Her scholarship reflects a commitment to decolonizing knowledge production across multiple domains.
