Sunmi Chang

Sunmi Chang serves as Assistant Professor of Violin at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance since September 2023, following prior faculty appointments at West Virginia University. She maintains an active dual career as both a performing artist and educator, currently serving as artistic director of the Summit Chamber Music Series in Morgantown, WV, and previously as a full-time tenured member of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra (2009-2015).

Her educational background includes:

Professor Chang's artistic focus centers on violin performance and chamber music, with extensive international experience as soloist and chamber musician. Her career highlights include laureate status at major international competitions, performances with the Yale Philharmonia on their 2008 Asian tour, and collaborations with renowned artists including Kim Kashkashian and Midori at prestigious festivals like Music@Menlo and Caramoor.
