Sunita Parikh is an Associate Professor of Political Science and a Lecturer in Law (by courtesy) at Washington University in St. Louis. She is affiliated with the Department of Political Science, Asian American Studies, and the Law School. Her research focuses on comparative politics, race and ethnicity, institutions, and federalism, employing comparative historical and rational-choice methods. She has published a book on affirmative action in the U.S. and India and explores themes like collective violence, political economy, and judicial-executive relations in India.
Current research projects include analyzing ethnic politics and collective violence in India (1970–2003), federalism and economic reform in India, and interbranch bargaining between India’s apex courts and executive branches. Her work bridges law, political institutions, and social movements in transnational contexts.
