Sungguen Ryu

Sungguen Ryu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), specializing in Atomic, Molecular, and Nuclear Physics. He holds a PhD in Physics from KAIST (2016) and has postdoctoral experience at KAIST (2017–2019) and IFISC (Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems, Spain, 2019–2023) through prestigious fellowships.

His research focuses on non-equilibrium quantum transport theory, quantum information, and quantum thermodynamics. He is affiliated with the Física de Nanosistemas (FISNANO) research group at UIB.

He teaches courses such as Econofísica, Mecánica Cuántica, Termodinámica, and Información Cuántica at UIB, covering undergraduate and master’s programs in Physics, Pharmacy, and Health Sciences.
