Sung Joon Suk

Dr. Sung Joon Suk is an Associate Professor at the Kimmel School of Construction Management within the College of Engineering and Technology at Western Carolina University (WCU). Prior to joining WCU in 2012, he spent a decade at Hyundai Engineering and Construction, South Korea's largest general contractor, specializing in construction site management, cost estimating, and bidding. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and two degrees from Korea University: a Master’s in Construction Management and a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering.

His research focuses on performance and productivity of capital projects, information technology applications, safety, and sustainability. Teaching interests include estimating, scheduling, construction graphics (BIM), computer applications, and financial management in construction.
