Sun-Joo Shin is a Professor of Philosophy at Yale University, serving as Director of Graduate Studies and Placement Director. Her research focuses on logic, philosophy of logic, history of logic, philosophy of linguistics, and philosophy of language. She is renowned for her work on Peirce’s graphical systems and the philosophical foundations of logical diagrams.
Her notable publications include The Iconic Logic of Peirce’s Graphs (MIT Press, 2002) and The Logical Status of Diagrams (Cambridge University Press, 1995), which explore the role of visual and symbolic systems in logical reasoning.
