Sumit Yadav

Dr. Sumit Yadav serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Growth and Development at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Dentistry, where he holds the Henry and Anne Cech Professorship of Orthodontics. As Interim Associate Dean for Research, he leads investigations into temporomandibular joint disorders and orthodontic innovation.

His research examines:

• Molecular mechanisms underlying TMJ osteoarthritis and obesity-related oral health impacts
• Development of personalized orthodontic devices for optimized tooth movement
• Clinical outcomes of conventional versus miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion

Dr. Yadav's publications demonstrate advanced imaging analysis of craniofacial structures and biomechanical responses to orthodontic interventions. Recent work explores novel therapeutic approaches for TMJ degeneration including senolytic treatments.
