Dr. Sumathilatha Sakthi Velavan serves as Associate Professor of Anatomy in the Department of Anatomy and Pathology at Marian University's Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-WCOM), where she directs the Essential Clinical Anatomy and Development course and teaches anatomy, histology, and pathology to preclinical osteopathic medical students.
Her educational background includes a medical degree (MBBS) from India, residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology (DGO), and Master of Surgery (MS) in Anatomy, supplemented by nearly ten years teaching anatomical sciences in Indian allopathic medical schools prior to her U.S. appointments at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and Marian University.
