Suman Mallik is the B. Allen and Dorothy V. Lay Professor at the School of Business, University of Kansas, specializing in the Department of Analytics, Information, and Operations. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (1998), alongside advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (B.Tech., 1990) and the University of Colorado (M.S., 1994).
His research focuses on healthcare operations, supply chain coordination, and the operations-marketing interface. Key areas include bundled payments in healthcare, optimal warranty design, and service industry operational challenges. Teaching spans operations management, supply chain logistics, and service operations at all academic levels, including executive education.
