Dr. Suman Baddam is an Assistant Professor of Child Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, affiliated with the Child Study Center and the Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He holds board certifications in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and sleep medicine. He completed his MD at Armed Forces Medical College (2005), followed by psychiatry training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and child psychiatry and sleep medicine training at Yale. His research focuses on pediatric sleep disorders, trauma’s impact on sleep, and mental health in adolescents. He has authored peer-reviewed articles on sleep evaluations, trauma-sleep associations, and neural responses to social exclusion. His clinical work integrates sleep medicine with child psychiatry, emphasizing evidence-based approaches. Dr. Baddam’s recent achievement includes completing the 4,200-mile Transamerica Bike Race, highlighting his commitment to physical and mental resilience.
