Dr. Suk Lee is a Lecturer at the School of Banking & Finance within the Business School at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia. His academic background includes a PhD in Finance from the University of Southern California (USC) and a MSc in Finance and Economics (Distinction) from the London School of Economics (LSE). Prior to joining UNSW, he worked as an economist at the Bank of Korea.
His research focuses on:
- Behavioral finance with microeconomic foundations
- Asset pricing theory
- Monetary theory and its implications for FinTech, particularly Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC)
His recent work includes a 2025 publication in the Journal of Financial Economics and several working papers exploring topics like the demand for skewed financial outcomes, coalition-proof monetary equilibrium, and the psychological drivers of financial misconduct. He teaches MFIN6201: Empirical Techniques and Applications in Finance.
