Suk Hi Kim is a Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance at the College of Business Administration, University of Detroit Mercy, where he has been a faculty member since 1977. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in international finance and North Korean studies, with significant scholarly contributions spanning decades.
His educational background includes:
- M.B.A. from Pepperdine University
- Ph.D. in Finance from St. Louis University
Professor Kim's research focuses on International Finance, North Korean Studies, and World Affairs, with emphasis on global economic dynamics and North Korea's political economy. He ranks among the top 25 international business researchers of the 1980s and has authored over a dozen books and 60 refereed journal articles, establishing foundational insights in cross-border financial systems and Korean peninsula economics.
His distinguished honors include:
- Fulbright Scholar in International Finance at Yonsei University (1992)
Dr. Kim directs the Institute for North Korean Studies and pioneered academic discourse through founding the North Korean Review and Multinational Business Review.
