Sue Olney

Dr. Sue Olney (Academic Rank: Associate Professor) is a Visiting Fellow in the Public Service Research Group at the School of Business, UNSW Canberra, and a UoM-BSL Principal Research Fellow in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne. She holds a PhD in Public Policy and a Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Melbourne.

• Research Interests: Market-based reform of public services, disability services, employment policy, welfare-to-work systems, policy coordination, and governance.
• Teaching: Governance and public administration at the University of Melbourne, UNSW Canberra, ANU, and ANZSOG.
• Leadership: Director of the social policy platform Power to Persuade and editorial board member of the Australian Journal of Public Administration.

Publications focus on disability employment policies, policy coordination, NDIS, labor market inclusion, and performance management in the public sector. Notable trends include interdisciplinary collaboration, Australia-specific equity frameworks, and intersections between health crises and policy design.
