Sue C. Grady

Sue C. Grady is a Professor in the Department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Sciences at Michigan State University's College of Social Science, where she conducts medical geography research to improve health outcomes in high-poverty urban and rural communities through analysis of environmental and social determinants.

She employs GIS and spatial epidemiological methods to model multilevel space-time relationships in health and environmental datasets, with a focus on reducing disparities through perinatal regionalization studies in Michigan.

She mentors students in health geography topics and teaches "Geography of Health and Disease" (GEO435), "Spatial Analysis of Populations" (GEO436), and "Medical Geography and Spatial Epidemiology" (EPI/GEO819), applying her nurse-trained perspective to place-based clinical and population health analysis.
