Sudipta Chattopadhyay

Sudipta Chattopadhyay is an Associate Professor with tenure at the Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) Pillar of Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), where he has been affiliated since 2017, initially serving as an Assistant Professor until March 2024. His research spans interdisciplinary domains in cyber security, cybercrime forensics, software engineering, and networked embedded systems.

• Education: PhD in Computer Science from National University of Singapore (2013), postdoctoral research at Saarbrücken's Computer Science division (affiliated with CISPA and the Software Engineering Chair), and Linköping University's Embedded Systems Lab.
• Industry Experience: 1.5 years as a Research and Development Engineer at Synopsys prior to his PhD.

Research Focus: Investigating novel attack surfaces and defenses in complex software systems, including IoT networks, wireless communication systems, and machine learning architectures. His work integrates software engineering principles with security and systems design.

Labs & Teams: Affiliated with the ASSET research group at SUTD, which actively recruits researchers in cybersecurity domains.
