Subbarao Venkata Majety

Subbarao Venkata Majety serves as Assistant Professor of Practice in Civil Engineering and Director of the Design Studio at Purdue University Northwest, holding a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and dual M.A.Sc degrees in Industrial and Civil Engineering from the University of Windsor.

His research centers on Reliability Allocation and Decay Functions with practical applications in structural engineering systems. He actively mentors undergraduate teams through high-impact senior design projects including the Concrete Canoe competition, Indiana-Kentucky Bridge development, and PNW's New Engineering Building design initiative. His expertise bridges Operations Research methodologies with civil infrastructure challenges.

As Director of the Design Studio, he oversees hands-on engineering education through capstone projects while teaching core courses spanning Engineering Drawing (Solidworks), Surveying, Statics/Dynamics, Hydrology, Civil Engineering Materials, and graduate-level Statistical Concepts.
